Having a filling is a restorative treatment that allows us to fill in cavities caused by decay to keep bacteria from entering your tooth. Fillings are designed to repair your tooth’s functionality, shape and appearance, and they can be made from various materials to suit your individual needs.
If it’s been determined that you require a dental filling, your dentist will discuss your options to help you decide which type of filling may suit your needs. Then, your dentist will prepare your tooth by removing the decay and promptly cleaning the affected area. The filling will be carefully fitted to close the cleaned tooth and stop any bacteria from entering it in the future.
